1. Who We Are
Quizmeter ("we", "us", "our") is an individually operated online service run by Adnan, based in New Delhi, India. We operate the website quizmeter.app and the Quizmeter platform, a live quiz hosting service for educators, trainers, and event organisers.

2. Who This Policy Applies To
We distinguish between three types of people:
- Hosts: Individuals who create an account, build quizzes, and run sessions. You provide us your email address and optionally a name and phone number.
- Participants: People who join a quiz session using a room code. No account is required. We collect only the display name you enter at join time, and a temporary anonymous session ID.
- Visitors: People who browse quizmeter.app without creating an account. We collect only standard server access logs.
3. What Data We Collect
From Hosts
- Email address (used for login and account communication)
- Name (optional, used to personalise your dashboard)
- Quiz content you create (questions, options, settings)
- Session data (room codes, participant counts, scores)
- Payment information: we do not store card or UPI details. Payments are handled by EaseBuzz, a PCI-DSS compliant Indian payment gateway. We only store the transaction ID and subscription status.
- Browser, device, and IP information (for security and abuse prevention)
From Participants
- Display name entered at join time
- Answers submitted during a quiz session
- A temporary anonymous user ID (stored in your browser session, cleared when you close the tab)
Automatically Collected
- IP address and browser/device type (access logs, retained for 180 days per CERT-In guidelines)
- Pages visited and time spent (aggregated, anonymised analytics)
4. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and operate the Quizmeter platform
- To authenticate your account and keep it secure
- To process subscription payments via EaseBuzz
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, payment receipts): no marketing emails without your consent
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- To improve the platform through aggregated, anonymised usage analytics
- To comply with applicable Indian law
We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
5. Data Sharing
We share data only with the service providers strictly necessary to operate Quizmeter:

No data is shared beyond what is necessary for these services to function. We do not use your data for advertising.

7. Your Rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act) and the IT Act 2000, you have the following rights:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure: request deletion of your account and associated data
- Grievance redressal: raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (see below)

8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.
9. Children's Privacy
Hosts must be 18 or older to create an account. Participants (quiz joiners) may be of any age, as determined by the host who controls the session. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has submitted data improperly, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), password hashing, row-level security on our database, and access controls. No system is completely secure: if you suspect a security issue, please report it to hello@quizmeter.app.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered hosts by email at least 7 days before any material change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of Quizmeter after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
